SCO Secretariat hosts meeting with Ambassadors of India and Pakistan

On 1 March 2016, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Alimov had a meeting with the Ambassador of India to China Vijay Gokhale and the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Masood Khalid in Beijing.
In the framework of implementation of decision of the Council of Heads of the SCO member states in Ufa (Russia) the heads of diplomatic missions were given the draft Memorandums of obligations of India and Pakistan with the aim of obtaining the status of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member State, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
It was emphasized that the signing of these Memorandums as a part of the upcoming Tashkent summit will be one of the most important outcomes of the meeting of the Heads of States. It will also makes a significant contribution to the development of the SCO, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The meeting was attended by the permanent representatives of the SCO member states to the SCO Secretariat.
