SCO Finance Ministers to meet in Almaty in 2009

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministers of Finance and chiefs of Central Banks of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) ill meet in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by the end of 2009.

The meeting will also focus on overcoming global financial-economic crisis, use of national currencies for mutual settlements and creation of special account for financing the SCO projects.

They will also discuss parameters of the special account and mechanisms on its management. It is expected that the funds will be used to finance infrastructure, power and telecommunication projects.

The SCO involves Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
