Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 9 January 2023, the start time of classes at 31 universities located in Tashkent will change. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.

This decision was made to unload the metro lines, the statement said. The list of universities includes both public universities and private and foreign ones.

In five universities from the list, studies will begin at 8:00, in one - at 8:30, in the rest - at 9:30.

On 5 December, when it was snowing heavily in Tashkent, the metro carried 620,000 passengers. This is 105 thousand more than on a normal day. In December 2020, on average, the metro transported 240 thousand passengers a day, in December 2021 - 400 thousand.
