Samvel Babayan Appointed Head Coach of FC Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Football club Andijan has announced the appointment of Samvel Babayan as its new head coach. Born on May 19, 1971, in Tashkent, the experienced specialist has a distinguished career in both Uzbek and international football.

In his coaching career, Babayan has led clubs including Pakhtakor, Navbahor, Spartak (Latvia), Lokomotiv, Changchun Yatai (China), as well as the Uzbekistan national team. Under his leadership, Pakhtakor became nine-time Uzbek champions, eight-time national cup winners, twice reached the AFC Champions League semifinals, and won the CIS Cup. He also achieved national and international success with Navbahor.

Many Uzbek national team players, including World Cup and Olympic participants, were trained under Babayan. The teams he has managed consistently ranked among the top three in their competitions.
