Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17-18 November 2022, a ministerial meeting in the "European Union - Central Asia" format and an international conference "EU - Central Asia" on interconnectedness: "Global Gateway" for sustainable development". This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The events will be attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of the Central Asian countries, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, high-ranking officials of the EU member states, international financial institutions and the private sector, experts, as well as representatives of civil society.

Within the framework of the ministerial meeting, it is planned to discuss topical issues of further development of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the EU in the fields of economy, trade, investment, environment, water resources, climate, as well as in the field of countering modern challenges and threats.

The first EU-CA Youth Forum will also take place on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting.

In turn, the International Conference is aimed at developing cooperation between the EU and the countries of Central Asia in order to promote sustainable interconnection in accordance with the EU Global Gateway initiative, develop coordinated measures to support green development and recovery from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
