Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 January, the President signed a Resolution on additional measures to further improve the activities of Samarkand State University.
Samarkand State University was named after the outstanding statesman and public figure Sharaf Rashidov. Within the framework of the tasks defined in the Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, as well as for the purposes of scientific, technological and social development, training of competitive scientific and pedagogical personnel, a Transformation Office is being created at SamSU. It is responsible for:
- implementation of the Program for the transformation and integrated development of the University and its inclusion until 2026 in the top 1000 rating of higher educational institutions of internationally recognized organizations;
- digitalization of activities and the introduction of modern pedagogical technologies in the educational process of the University;
- holding promotional activities to promote the University in national and foreign media and the Internet.
The document approved:
Comprehensive Development Program of Samarkand State University named after. Sharaf Rashidov for 2022-2025;
Target indicators for the development of SamSU until 2025;
Schedule of assigning departments of SamSU specialties to research institutions, industry enterprises and organizations.
The University has:
Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Food Security, which trains personnel in the fields of agronomy, biotechnology and food security;
Institute of Engineering Physics, which trains personnel in the fields of engineering, automation, mechatronics, robotics, digital electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, technology of new materials;
Urgut branch of the University, which trains personnel in pedagogy, information technology and other areas that are in demand in the region.
The main activities of the Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, the Institute of Engineering and the Branch are defined as:
- training, retraining and advanced training of specialists;
- implementation of joint educational programs and scientific projects with leading foreign universities;
- orientation of the educational process to the formation of students' skills of independent learning, system analysis, creative thinking, as well as practical, including entrepreneurial skills;
- the establishment of research work, the development of scientific, practical and innovative research aimed at solving the problems of industrial organizations and others.
At the Institute of Agrobiotechnology, the Institute of Engineering and the Branch, educational activities begin from the 2022/2023 academic year, the educational process is carried out on the basis of a credit-module system.
The costs associated with the organization of activities, including the repair and equipping of buildings and structures, are carried out at the expense of the extrabudgetary funds of the University, as well as the funds of the Fund for the Development of Higher Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
