Samarkand Introduces Concept for New Taxi Fleet for Tourists and Residents
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the regional administration of Samarkand, the concept for a new taxi fleet aimed at serving both foreign tourists and local residents was presented to the region’s hokim, Adiz Buboev.
According to the project’s initiators, the total investment in the initiative will amount to US$6 million.
The project is expected to create around 320 new jobs and introduce a Comfort+ fare tier, designed for passengers seeking a higher level of comfort.
Plans include the use of three types of eco-friendly vehicles, which is expected to contribute to improving the environmental situation in the region.
The regional leader highlighted Samarkand’s dynamic development and growing tourist flow, emphasizing the need to provide high-quality, modern services.
Special attention is being given to driver service culture, personal appearance, mandatory taximeters, and adherence to passenger service standards.
During the meeting, key aspects of the project implementation were discussed, and the initiators received assurances of comprehensive support from the regional administration in accordance with existing legislation.
