Samarkand hosts international florists’ seminar

Samarkand hosted an international florists’ seminar “Ancient Samarkand – turquoise garden of inspiration” on 7-12 May. The event was organized by National Association of Florists of Uzbekistan at support of Fund Forum.
The project of such level, which was aimed at attracting attention of foreign and local florists to Samarkand, was held for the first time in Central Asia.
Annette von Einem of Denmark and Sergei Karpunin from Russia were invited to conduct the seminar. During the seminar, the participants familiarized with cultural and architectural heritage of Samarkand and later tried to interpret their impressions in flowers.
At the end of the seminar, an exhibition of flowers was held at Ulugbek madrasah, which located at Registan square in Samarkand.
The seminar was attended by 11 florists from Uzbekistan and eight florists from Russia. During the visit to Samarkand, they visited Guri Emir Mavsoleium, Shahi Zinda, Tilla-Kari Madrasah, Ulugbek Observatory, Siab market, etc.
