Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 March, an international conference “Features of the heritage of Imam Al-Bukhari and its current educational value” was held at the Youth Center of Samarkand, the press service of the Samarkand khokimiyat reported.

To participate in the international conference, the chairman of the Council of Ulema of the Islamic Center of Tajikistan, Saidmukarram Abdukodirzoda, Minister of Hajj and Islamic Affairs of Afghanistan, Mohammad Qasim Halimi, Chairman of the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan, Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov, as well as other religious leaders, leading scientists, specialists and officials from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The event began with the reading of the Holy Quran.

Within the framework of the conference, the participants were shown a video about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular about the development of the religious and educational sphere, the life of our outstanding scientists who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of the Islamic world, the essence and significance of the invaluable heritage. The khokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov made a welcoming speech, who congratulated the conference participants and spoke about the importance of organizing and holding this event.

The participants of the event discussed the promotion of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, good neighborliness and solidarity, the preservation of religious and national values in the countries of Central Asia.

Within the framework of the conference, the participants of the international conference discussed:

1. Features and benefits of the heritage of Imam Al-Bukhari;

2.The importance of the legacy of Imam Al-Bukhari today and his role in ensuring interethnic harmony;

3. Promotion of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, good neighborliness and solidarity, the preservation of religious and national values in the countries of Central Asia, as well as positive reforms and changes in the field of religious education in Uzbekistan in recent years.
