Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov laid a wreath at the monument to the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and honored his memory, the press service of the regional administration said.

Suras from the Koran were read in the memorial complex named after Islam Karimov. Let us remind you that September 2 is established as the Day of Remembrance of the first President in Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the regional administration, state and public organizations and the general public.
