Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the first day of 2022, 1,448 children were born in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.

Of the total number of babies born as of 1 January at 5:30 pm, 716 are girls and 732 are boys. Among newborns there are 8 pairs of twins (16 children).

Most children were born in Samarkand region - 193, Kashkadarya region - 146, Fergana region - 137, Andijan region - 131, Namangan region - 123.
