Samarkand Attracts Malaysian Investors in Meat Processing and Hospitality
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Adiz Boboev, Governor of Samarkand Region, held a meeting with a Malaysian delegation led by Hodja Mohd Ashyahari bin Abdul Latif, head of the publishing house Nasrul Quran.
During the meeting, the regional governor presented the cultural and spiritual history of Samarkand, highlighting its role as a center of science and education for centuries.
The delegation introduced the activities of their publishing house, which specializes in printing the Quran and Hadiths, and also operates in education, hospitality, and food sectors.
The guests expressed interest in launching a meat processing plant in Samarkand, noting the region’s investment potential in this sector.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Imam Al-Bukhari complex, noting the significant progress in its development. Ashyahari bin Abdul Latif expressed readiness to support projects for the complex’s further improvement.
The governor highlighted the growing number of tourists and pilgrims from Indonesia and Malaysia, which increases the demand for related services and national cuisine.
He proposed transferring the management of one of the hotels under construction within the complex to the delegation to enhance guest comfort.
The parties also discussed further steps to develop ziyarat tourism, increase the number of pilgrims, and strengthen cultural and economic ties between Samarkand Region and regions of Malaysia.
