Samarkand Airport receives its first flight after re-opening

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- This morning, on 14 December at 08:32 local time, the plane of the local airline Uzbekistan Airways landed on the new runway of the airport. Flight HY-043 with 21 passengers on board arrived in Samarkand from Tashkent.

As a reminder, the Samarkand airport was closed from 20 October to 10 December in connection with preparations for the commissioning of a new airfield complex, which includes a new runway 3 105 meters long and 60 meters wide, taxiways and an apron for 24 parking lots for air ships, as well as installed modern lighting equipment and a landing system.
