Samara Region and Namangan Region Sign Cooperation Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The government of Russia’s Samara Region and the hokimiyats of Namangan and Fergana Regions of Uzbekistan have signed agreements on cooperation in international and foreign economic relations, covering trade and economic, scientific and technical, socio-cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

According to the regional press service, the opening of stores selling Uzbek products in Samara Region is planned for May 2026.

At the plenary session of the II Russia–Uzbekistan Regional Council, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov read a greeting message from President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the dynamic development of bilateral relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.

“A significant component of these relations is interregional ties, actively supported at various levels. Today, more than 40 interregional agreements are in force, enabling joint economic, social, and humanitarian projects, the opening of industrial parks and technology centers, as well as exhibitions and presentations,” Manturov noted, conveying the president’s words.

The cooperation agreement between Samara and Namangan Regions provides for the opening of branded stores showcasing Uzbek textile and light industry products, while Russian goods will be available in the partner region.

Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedoriщev specified that the stores could open in May 2026.

Additionally, the parties discussed developing industrial cooperation and organizing direct air links between Samara Region and Uzbekistan to strengthen trade, economic, and cultural ties between the regions.
