Sales of GM Uzbekistan in Russia drop by 57% in 1H

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Sales of automobiles of GM Uzbekistan in Russia fell by 57% year-on-year in January-June 2015 to 10,357 units, the statement of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses said.

The Uzbekistan-based carmaker realized 1,735 automobiles in the Russian market in June 2015, which decreased by 45% compared to the same month of 2014, the committee added.

Share of GM Uzbekistan in Russian market made up 1.3% in the first quarter of 2015 against 2% in the same period of 2014, the committee said.

In the reporting period, GM Uzbekistan claimed the 19th place on sales of automobiles in Russia. Daewoo Gentra of GM Uzbekistan entered to Top-25 bestsellers in the Russian market in the first half of 2015.

According the committee, Gentra claimed the 25th place in the first six months of 2015. Dealers of GM Uzbekistan sold 6,688 cars of Gentra in the first half of 2015, which fell by 4,966 cars compared to the same period of 2014.
