Saida Mirziyoyeva Visits Karakalpak Basalt Wool Plant in Nukus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva visited Karakalpak Basalt Wool LLC in Nukus on 26 November. The plant is part of the Basalt Uzbekistan group, the company’s press service reported.

“It is essential to produce energy-efficient, export-oriented products based on local raw materials. This project expands the region’s opportunities in external markets, creates new jobs, and makes a significant contribution to the development of Karakalpakstan,” Mirziyoyeva said, addressing the plant’s management and specialists.

Commissioned on 23 September 2025, the plant became the thirteenth production facility in the Basalt Uzbekistan industrial ecosystem. It specializes in the production of basalt-based thermal insulation mineral boards and adheres to high standards of quality and energy efficiency.

The total area of the complex is nearly five hectares, with production facilities covering more than 5,000 square meters. The plant’s design capacity reaches 50,000 tons of products per year. Production localization is 80% due to the use of local raw materials, strengthening manufacturing independence and stimulating the development of related regional industries.

Basalt Uzbekistan emphasized that support from the country’s leadership inspires the team and enables the implementation of large-scale projects, demonstrating that domestic products can meet international quality and energy-efficiency standards.

The launch of Karakalpak Basalt Wool is viewed as a strategic step in implementing national priorities: increasing energy efficiency, supporting construction, and expanding the export potential of Karakalpakstan.
