Saida Mirziyoyeva Discusses Investment and Parliamentary Initiatives with British Representatives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held a series of meetings with representatives of the UK government and parliament.
During the talks with Varun Chandra, Investment Adviser to the UK Prime Minister, the parties discussed prospects for the implementation of joint projects.
Mr. Chandra expressed strong interest in the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at developing the economy and improving the investment climate.
Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that the agreements reached form a solid foundation for new practical initiatives and long-term partnership between the two countries.
She also met with Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament.
Both sides expressed confidence that the establishment of an All-Party Parliamentary Group on Central Asia will serve as an important platform for active dialogue between the parliaments of the United Kingdom and the countries of the region.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached to host a delegation of the group in Uzbekistan. At the end of the visit, the guests took part in a tour of the historic parliamentary building.
