Saida Mirziyoyeva and Rustam Minnikhanov Discuss Cooperation and Attend Cultural Events in Kazan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting with Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov during her working visit to Kazan.
Mirziyoyeva conveyed greetings from President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Minnikhanov.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in culture, tourism, and the economy, emphasizing the significant potential for mutually beneficial projects, including at the interregional level.
During the visit, Mirziyoyeva and Minnikhanov attended several cultural events. At the Prisutstvennye Chambers of the Kazan Kremlin, they visited the exhibition “Light Between Worlds”, featuring over 130 works from the collections of the State Museum “New Jerusalem” (Moscow Region) and the Savitsky Art Museum (Nukus, Uzbekistan). The exhibition is an international project showcasing works by 20th-century artists, many of whom have connections to Central Asia.
The guests were accompanied by the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan, Irada Ayupova. After the tour, Minnikhanov highlighted the historical closeness of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, shared traditions, and linguistic ties. He noted that “Tatarstan–Uzbekistan relations are based on centuries of history” and acknowledged the contribution of the leaders of both countries in strengthening bilateral ties.
In the evening, Mirziyoyeva and Minnikhanov attended a concert by composer and pianist Kirill Richter and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan conducted by Alibek Kabdurakhmanov at the new building of the Galiaskar Kamal Theatre. Flowers were presented to the performers on behalf of both sides.
Minnikhanov also recalled that Tatarstan is home to a sizable Uzbek community, and approximately two thousand Uzbek students study at universities in the republic. He expressed wishes of peace and prosperity for Uzbekistan, noting the positive development trends in the country.
