Sadyk Safoyev meets with Mobashar Jawed Akbar to discuss Uzbek-Indian ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sadyk Safoyev met with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India Mobashar Jawed Akbar, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate at the meeting of “India – Central Asia” dialogue.

At the meeting, the current state and prospects of development of bilateral relations were discussed. In addition, views were exchanged on organization of events within the framework of the upcoming state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India in October this year.

Meetings and dialogues are regularly organized between different structures of the two countries. In particular, “India – Central Asia” dialogue is a favorable platform for multilateral economic and political consultations, discussion of such issues as development of promising agreements in the spheres of transport logistics and investment, joint struggle against various threats to sustainable development.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to make every effort and opportunity for successful holding Uzbekistan – India joint events.
