Russia’s Channel One Showcases Tashkent on “Chefs on Wheels”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of efforts to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, Russia’s Channel One aired a special episode of the popular culinary television project “Chefs on Wheels” dedicated to the capital of the republic, Tashkent.
The filming of the program was organized with the support of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation.
The television feature was produced during a visit by the show’s creative team to Tashkent from September 12 to 18, 2025. During the trip, the filming crew explored the historical, cultural, and gastronomic heritage of the capital.
The main objective of the project was to enhance Uzbekistan’s tourist appeal and to generate sustained interest among Russian audiences in traveling to the country.
The program’s hosts, well-known Russian chefs Anton Ivnitsky and Eduard Pogosov, visited key landmarks of the city, including the Kukeldash Madrasah and Tashkent’s central squares. During the filming, they became acquainted with the traditions of national cuisine and also took a hot air balloon flight, offering viewers panoramic views of the capital from a bird’s-eye perspective.
Special attention in the program was given to Tashkent’s modern tourism infrastructure and its rich gastronomic diversity.
On one of the city’s most popular tourist streets, known as “Broadway,” the chefs prepared signature dishes using local products, with tastings held for residents and visitors of the capital.
Given that the audience of the “Chefs on Wheels” television project exceeds 18 million viewers, the episode dedicated to Tashkent became an effective tool for promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Russian media market and contributed to strengthening the country’s positive image as an attractive travel destination.
