Russian Tennis Player Timofeeva to Represent Uzbekistan in WTA Tournaments
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian tennis player Maria Timofeeva will now compete under the flag of Uzbekistan, according to her updated profile on the official Women's Tennis Association (WTA) website.
The 21-year-old athlete currently ranks 146th in the WTA world rankings, with a career-high of 93rd.
Last week, Timofeeva claimed her first professional-level title, winning a tournament in Portugal.
