Russian medical workers complete their mission in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, on 18 September this year, a group of medical workers from the Russian Federation arrived in Uzbekistan.

It consists of 35 medical professionals, including epidemiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, infectious disease specialists, radiologists, therapists, surgeons, laboratory diagnostics doctors and nurse anesthesiologists.

For two weeks, the group members visited medical institutions in the city of Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Namangan, Andijan, Ferghana and Tashkent regions and, together with our doctors, fought against coronavirus infection.

During the event dedicated to the results of the group’s mission, the head of the delegation Konstantin Pokrovsky and the anesthesiologist-resuscitator Irina Machulina were awarded the badge "Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

“We are glad that they trusted us and we were able to work in cooperation,” said Doctor of Medical Sciences Konstantin Pokrovsky. “During our joint work, we made sure that Uzbekistan in a very short time managed to rebuild the healthcare system, build a clinic in Zangiata district. In principle, this was not easy to do in a short time, but you succeeded. This greatly facilitated the fight against this massive infectious disease. Your doctors treat patients according to guidelines that are constantly changing around the world. The main thing is that they have the desire and experience for this. In addition, they complement and improve their work experience in cooperation with foreign specialists.”
