Russian FM to meet Islam Karimov and Abdulaziz Kamilov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan on 15 July 2015, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Within the visit, Sergei Lavrov will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.
The foreign ministers will discuss a broad range of issues concerning Russian-Uzbek cooperation on foreign policy and in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, the Russian ministry said.
Lavrov and Kamilov will also exchange their views on pressing regional and international issues. Particular focus will be on coordination on multilateral platforms such as the CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations, the situation in Afghanistan, and countering the spread of terrorism and extremism, the ministry said.
The Russian ministry said that upcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov will help to strengthen the Uzbek-Russian dialogue and is important factor to ensure peace and security in Central Asia.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that Sergei Lavrov will arrive in Uzbekistan with a visit on 14 July 2015.
