Russian FM arrives in Uzbekistan

Sergei Lavrov participated in the negotiations of Iran with P5+1 on Iranian nuclear programme.

Within the working visit to Uzbekistan, on 15 July, Sergei Lavrov will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.

The foreign ministers will discuss a broad range of issues concerning Russian-Uzbek cooperation on foreign policy and in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, the Russian ministry said.

Lavrov and Kamilov will also exchange their views on pressing regional and international issues. Particular focus will be on coordination on multilateral platforms such as the CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations, the situation in Afghanistan, and countering the spread of terrorism and extremism, the ministry said.
