Russia, Uzbekistan interested in expanding mutual supply of agriculture products
The Russian delegation included representatives of business community and trade networks. The delegation participated in International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, which is taking place in Tashkent from 12 to 16 July 2016.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev held negotiations with the Sergei Levin. The sides discussed actual issues of the Uzbek-Russian cooperation in agriculture sector, including increasing supply of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to the Russian market.
The Russian delegation familiarized with the products, demonstrated in the fair, and held negotiations with the Uzbek farmers.
The Russian delegation also attended in a roundtable, which was attended by the Russian and Uzbek businesses.
Levin also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev. The sides considered issues of expanding fruits and vegetables supply from Uzbekistan and Russia and develop measures on assisting businesses to conduct supplies.
The sides reached agreement to hold a session of the Russian-Uzbek working group on supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Russia with attraction of the Uzbek suppliers, representatives of trade chains and governmental bodies.
Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan signed a protocol on cooperation in supply of fruits and vegetables.
