Russia–Uzbekistan Council of Regions May Be Held in Omsk in 2027

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Council of Regions between Russia and Uzbekistan could take place in Omsk in 2027, according to the press service of the Omsk regional government following a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Tashkent.

Governor of Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko represented his region at the commission. During a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, he presented proposals for developing industrial cooperation, transport and energy sectors, as well as agriculture. He suggested holding the Council of Regions in Omsk and assured full readiness to organize the event at a high standard.

According to the Omsk government, trade turnover between Omsk Region and Uzbekistan rose 85% in 2025, while the region’s exports increased fourfold. Omsk actively collaborates with Bukhara, Fergana, Navoi, and Tashkent regions, participating in major exhibitions and economic forums.
