Russia to Play Two Futsal Matches Against Uzbekistan in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Russian national futsal team will play two friendly matches against Uzbekistan. The games are scheduled for December 19 and 21 at the Sports Complex of Bukhara State University, with kick-off at 17:00 local time.
For match preparation, the Russian coaching staff has assembled an extended squad of 23 players.
Head coach Beso Zoidze emphasized that the squad selection will not come as a surprise to those following the team closely. According to him, the pool of candidates for the national team is much broader than the usual twenty players called up for training camps, and many players who missed previous events have remained under careful observation.
Zoidze noted that for his team, there is no such thing as a “friendly” match: every time they step on the court, maximum effort is required.
He described Uzbekistan as one of the strongest futsal teams in Asia, rapidly progressing, and posing a serious challenge to opponents. The upcoming matches, he said, will be valuable experience for both sides.
The Russian coach also expressed gratitude to the hosts for the invitation to play in Bukhara and to the Russian Football Union for their organizational support.
He highlighted that, under current circumstances, such matches provide the team with a rare opportunity to face strong opponents and gain additional momentum for development.
