Russia delivers 120 tonnes of aid to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian Emergency Situations Ministry delivered over 120 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Uzbekistan in line with the order of Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev.

Humanitarian aid includes food, shelters, blankets and dishes. The cargo is for refugees from Kyrgyzstan, which fled from violence from southern Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake stated that Uzbekistan accepted over 110,000 refugees and the Government of Uzbekistan registered 75,000 of them.
