Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russia 24 TV channel released a report on large-scale reforms taking place in Uzbekistan. The channel’s correspondents focus on global transformations in the country’s economic, political and social life, which form the New Uzbekistan.

In the report, journalists compare the pace of infrastructure construction in the country with the heyday of Amir Temur’s empire, when special priority attention was paid to the construction of architectural masterpieces. 

“Large projects are being implemented in all regions of Uzbekistan - from the construction of residential complexes to the construction of transport facilities. For the first time in 30 years, the Tashkent subway is growing in length. In two years, a metallurgical plant has been built, which has become the first in its industry in recent decades, ”the video says.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about these changes, as well as grandiose plans for 2021 in his annual Address to the Oliy Majlis. Next year, the country will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its independence, and right now the vector of further reforms is being formed that will affect all spheres of life.

“Large-scale economic and financial reforms literally woke up the country after a long hibernation. This year alone, almost two hundred large enterprises were launched, ”says correspondent Boris Maksudov.

It is noted that the Uzbek economic reforms are recognized as one of the most open in the world, and even the pandemic could not undermine what was started.
