Rosatom Technical Academy and Uzatom Agency sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of nuclear infrastructure development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 July, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzatom Agency), Rosenergoatom Concern JSC and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization for Additional Professional Education (ANO DPO ) "Technical Academy of Rosatom". 

Cooperation is aimed at developing the national nuclear infrastructure of Uzbekistan, as well as raising awareness of the general public about nuclear technologies and their applications.

On the part of Uzbekistan, the memorandum was signed by the General Director of the Uzatom Agency, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, on the part of Russia, the General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC Andrey Petrov and the rector of ANO DPO Rosatom Technical Academy Yuri Seleznev.

This agreement is focused on the implementation of cooperation in several areas, among which special attention will be paid to the training program for teachers in Uzbekistan, the organization and conduct of technical tours to Russian nuclear power plants, as well as internships at NPP training centers in Russia, which includes visits to full-scale simulators and laboratories. In addition, the memorandum provides for the participation of specialists from Uzbekistan in the joint activities of the Technical Academy of Rosatom and the IAEA.

This cooperation will allow Uzbekistan to receive expert support from the Rosatom Technical Academy in training specialists for all stages of the implementation of the country’s nuclear program.

After the signing, the parties begin to implement a number of joint activities. Among the nearest ones is the participation of Uzbek specialists in the IAEA school on research reactors, which will be held in St. Petersburg in August.
