Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Romania made two voluntary contributions to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the amount of 60,000 euros for projects in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Uzbekistan Daniel Christian Ciobanu.

According to the ambassador, this decision was made by Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.

The first voluntary contribution to UNICEF in the amount of 40,000 euros is intended to equip Surkhandarya regional diversified medical center with medical equipment for children.

The second contribution to UNICEF in the amount of 20,000 euros is intended for the opening of preschool institutions in Khorezm.

Daniel Christian Ciobanu noted that it is very important for Romania to support the development and health of children in Uzbekistan, as they can make the most important contribution to the development of the country.
