Role of youth in forming civil society discussed in Tashkent

MPs of Legislative Chamber, representatives of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and its youth wing, which unites 14,000 youth, participated in the event.

The youth visited the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, which consists of two chambers – Legislative Chamber and Senate. They had chance to familiarize with the activities of parliament and results of reforms.

MPs considered various aspects of Oliy Majlis activities, public governance, control-analytical work of parliament, work on the draft laws, etc.

Members of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan briefed the youth on implementation of the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and forming civil society in the country and various state programmes.

Young politicians discussed upcoming elections and election legislation. The event showed that great interest of youth to politics and law-making process.
