Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the World Summer Universiade currently underway in Germany, the Uzbek delegation has delivered its best-ever performance in the history of its participation in these international student games.

The final matches in WT taekwondo mixed team competition have just concluded, with Uzbekistan clinching the gold medal after a hard-fought 2:1 victory over Egypt in the decisive bout.

The winning team — Diyora Azizova, Madina Mirabzalova, Shohjakhon Karimboev, and Najmiddin Qosimkhojiev — proudly represented Uzbekistan and secured a historic gold. This marks the first time the national team has claimed three gold medals at a single Universiade.

As of now, Uzbekistan’s medal tally stands at 3 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
