Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 2% in Jan-Feb
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 2% in January-February 2018 compared to the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The share of trade turnover of large enterprises amounted to 13%. The increase in demand for goods such as consumer goods, tobacco products, gasoline and alcoholic beverages led to an increase in the growth rate of large enterprises to the last year by 25.2%.

Regions with high trade turnover, such as the city, had a positive impact on increase in retail trade in Tashkent city (21.7%), Tashkent (9.9%), Ferghana (8.7%), Andijan (8.4%) and Samarkand (8.2%) regions.

Retail trade turnover, including turnover of food enterprises, per capita increased by 0.3% and amounted to 533,500 soums (in January 2017 – 434,000 soums).

The highest per capita turnover observed in Tashkent city (1535,1 thousand soums), Navoi (683,9 thousand soums) and Tashkent (602,3 thousand soums) region. The volume of retail trade turnover of food enterprises amounted to 404,0 billion soums or decreased by 5%. Specific weight turnover of food enterprises in the total turnover of retail trade amounted to 2.3%.

Retail trade turnover of small businesses decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period of last year. The proportion of sales in the total turnover retail trade accounted for 87%. Of the total trade turnover of small businesses selling goods in unorganized trade amounted to 1995.2 billion soums. The share of this sector in the total trade turnover amounted to 11.5%.

The highest proportion of sales in the total turnover retailers noted in Jizzakh region – 95%, in Syrdarya 94.1%, in Kashkadarya of 92.9%, in Navoi at 91.8%, and the low specific gravity - in the city of Tashkent is 74.6%, in Khorezm region – 80.7% and other areas.

In January-February 2018, the volume of wholesale trade made up 6155.4 billion soums, or grew 1.3% of the same period in 2017. Compared to the previous year, the volume of wholesale trade turnover shows a decrease in growth rates in the following regions: Bukhara region – 99.9%, Tashkent city – 99.4%, Andijan region – 98.8%, Kashkadarya region – 98.1%, Jizzakh region – 97.6%, Samarkand region – 95.8%.

The trade turnover of small enterprises and microfirms increased by 5.4% and reached 4425.9 billion soums, the share of sales in the total turnover of wholesale trade amounted to 71.9%.
