Retail trade turnover makes up 3.37trln soums in 1Q

The share of food products in total retail turnover comprised 47.1% and non-food products - 52.9% (in January-March 2008 - 50.9 and 49.1% respectively).

The retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached 1.41 trillion soums or increased by 41% year-on-year. Share of trade enterprises in total retail turnover was 41.9% (in January-March 2008 - 35.2%).

In total turnover of trade enterprises, the share of trade enterprises in the rural area was 27.7% (in January-March 2008 - 31.5%).

The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dekhkan markets increased by 6.1% and reached 1.211 trillion soums. The share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 35.9%.

The goods turnover of the informal sector (commodity and specialized markets) amounted to 747 billion soums, which was 5.7% higher than in January-March 2008. The share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 22.2% in the first three months of 2009 (in January-March 2008 - 24.8%).
