Retail trade turnover makes up 12.558 trln soums in 2008

Index of sale of food products was 10.2% and non-food products - 24.6%. In January-December 2008, share of food products in retail trade turnover was 48.1% and non-food products - 51.9% (in January-December 2007 - 51.2% and 48.8% respectively), the committee said.

Retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached to 4.834 trillion soums or increased by 33% compared to 2007. In the structure of the retail trade turnover, the turnover of trade enterprises was 38.5% (in 2007 - 33.9%).

In total turnover of trade enterprises the share of the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises in the rural area was 31.3% (in 2007 - 29.3%). The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dekhkan markets increased by 8.4% and reached 4.6 trillion soums. The share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 36.6%.

The goods turnover of the informal sector (commodity and specialized markets) comprised 3.123 trillion soums, which was 10.2% higher than in 2007. The share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 24.9% (in 2007 - 26.5%), the committee added.
