Retail trade turnover in January-March 2022 reaches 59.06 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Retail trade turnover in January-March 2022 reached 59.06 trillion soums and increased by 10.8% compared to the same period in 2021. Compared to the corresponding period in 2021, all regions saw an increase in retail growth, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the structure of the retail trade turnover of the republic, a significant share was noted in Tashkent, which is 23.7%, or 13.99 trillion soums.

In the structure of retail trade turnover, the smallest share was recorded at the level of 1.6%, or 929.5 billion soums, which was noted in Syrdarya region.

In the structure of retail trade turnover, the volume of trade turnover of large enterprises increased by 54.2% and reached 13.97 trillion soums, which is 23.7% of its total volume.

The retail turnover of small businesses and private entrepreneurship, according to statistical calculations, in January-March 2022 amounted to 45.08 trillion soums and, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 2.0%. The share of this sector in the republic in the retail trade turnover reached 76.3%.

The share of small business and private entrepreneurship, in comparison with other regions, was the largest in Syrdarya (92.9%), Surkhandarya (92.8%), Kashkadarya (91.9%) and Namangan (90.5%) regions. In the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of trade turnover of large enterprises amounted to 23.7% of total sales, their main share was observed in Tashkent (43.7%), Tashkent (31.9%), Samarkand (24.6%), Khorezm (23.7%) regions.

According to preliminary data from a survey of individuals, the turnover of unorganized trade in January-March 2022 amounted to 5.28 trillion soums and, compared to the same period in 2021, it increased by 11.2%. Including the turnover of trade in dekhkan markets amounted to 2.37 trillion soums (an increase of 16.6%), the turnover of trade in livestock markets was recorded at 2.91 trillion soums (an increase of 7.8%).

According to preliminary data from a survey of individuals involved in the sale of agricultural products, poultry and livestock (grown and kept in personal subsidiary farms), conducted in January-March 2022, the turnover of trade in dekhkan markets amounted to 2.37 trillion soums, livestock markets – 2.91 trillion soums.

In January-March 2022, in all regions of the republic, a survey was conducted of individuals involved in the sale of agricultural products (grown in personal subsidiary plots), according to the results of which the turnover of this type of trade amounted to 2.37 trillion soums. The high sale of fresh agricultural products reached 1.05 trillion soums.

In January-March 2022, in the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of trade turnover of public catering enterprises amounted to 3.1%, reaching 1,857.4 billion soums, and increased by 15.5% compared to the same period in 2021. Of these, 74.8% of the trade turnover falls on the share of small businesses.

According to preliminary data, in January-March 2022, the volume of wholesale trade reached 32.7 trillion soums and, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 14.9%. The turnover of wholesale trade of small businesses, according to statistical calculations, amounted to 22.11 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2021, increased by 10.8%. The share of this sector in the wholesale trade turnover in the republic amounted to 67.6%.

The highest growth rates in the wholesale turnover of large enterprises, compared to 2021, were observed in Bukhara in the total volume of wholesale trade. Thus, for the reporting period, the share of this sector was fixed at the level of 0.1% of the total volume of wholesale trade. The wholesale trade turnover in January-March 2022 amounted to 32.71 trillion soums, including entities of non-state subordination – 32.68 trillion soums, state subordination - 20.7 billion soums.
