Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the nineteenth plenary session of the Senate, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility" was discussed.

As noted, over the past years, our country has implemented systemic and effective measures aimed at ensuring peace and tranquility, introducing fundamentally new mechanisms for maintaining public order and creating a sense of personal security among the population. This Law aims to further strengthen these reforms.

The law, as the first direction, strengthens the penalties in the Criminal Code for the commission of a crime related to resisting a representative of the government or a person performing a civil duty, that is, actively resisting the legitimate activities of a representative of the government who is performing his official duty, or a person performing a civil duty.

The second direction is the amendments made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, providing for increased responsibility for failure to comply with the legal requirements of an employee of the internal affairs bodies or a serviceman (employee) of the National Guard, resisting the performance of their official duties and failure to comply with the legal requirements of a representative of the government or resistance to the performance of his official duties. responsibilities.

The law stipulates legal protection for representatives of the authorities of the country by establishing in the Criminal Code responsibility for resisting a representative of the authorities.

Also, with the introduction of amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, conditions are created for the unimpeded implementation of legal activities not only of employees of the internal affairs bodies or military personnel (employees) of the National Guard, but also of other authorities by increasing responsibility for resisting or obstructing the performance of their official duties. It will also protect the health and safety of life of government officials.
