Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March, the President signed resolution “On Additional Measures for the Further Development of the Publishing and Printing Sphere”, which consented to:
- transfer to the State Asset Management Agency for the privatization of state-owned enterprises "Publishing and Printing Creative House" Uzbekistan", "Gafura Gulyama" and "Printing House Oqituvchi";
- transfer to the State Asset Management Agency for the effective use of the state-owned enterprise "Printing House for the Blind";
- termination of activity of the state enterprise “Scientific and Methodical Publishing Center“ Oqituvchi” and publishing houses in the system of territorial divisions of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
- establishment of the Uzbekiston Nashriyti state enterprise (in the AIMK system), adding to it the Chulpan IPTD state enterprise and the Uzbekiston Milliy encyclopediasi State Scientific Publishing House, as well as the transfer of the publishing house base of the Uzbekton Nashritie state enterprise to , including intellectual property rights.
The decision instructed the State Commission to conduct tenders for the sale of state property, headed by the Prime Minister, within two weeks to approve the schedule for evaluation, reorganization, tendering and liquidation of the above state enterprises.
The resolution stipulates that AIMK is empowered to draw up protocols on administrative violations in the field of information, printing and publishing.
