According to the website Gazeta.uz, the Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures on further ordering realization of sales of international air transportation services” on 28 June 2013.
The document said that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari received the right to sell tickets for international flights to residents of Uzbekistan in hard currency, when the initial point is located in Uzbekistan.
The resolution said that the airline will agree tariffs and destination countries for international air transportation with the Ministry of Finance, the report said.
The document said that legal entities can purchase air tickets in national currency for their employees, who are heading to business trip.
Earlier, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari had right to sell tickets in hard currency to residents of Uzbekistan if the initial point of the flight locates outside Uzbekistan. Non-residents of Uzbekistan can buy tickets to all destinations in hard currency.
Foreign airlines, their offices and agents are selling tickets to their flights in hard currency both to residents and non-residents of Uzbekistan. At the same time, they have right to sell tickets in national currency to residents of Uzbekistan, if the initial point of the flight starts in territory of Uzbekistan.
The resolution also approved a regulation on order of realization of air transportation services by national airline in territory of Uzbekistan.
The document set that the air tickets can be sold via banking cards, but tickets can be bought only for card holder and members of his family (grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, spouse, children).
The website said that the resolution approved list of persons, who are allowed to buy air tickets for international flights in national currency.
Among them are:
1. Participants of the World War II, and equal to them.
2. Persons awarded with orders and medals for their hard work and an impeccable military service on the home front during the World War II.
3. Persons with disabilities of the first and second group, and the person accompanying him.
4. Persons with disabilities since childhood and the accompanying person.
5. Persons traveling for medical treatment on the basis of a certificate issued by the medical advisory committee of the Ministry of Health or medical-labor expert commissions of the Republican inspection of medical and social expertise of the off-budget Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance.
6. Persons traveling to the funeral of relatives on the basis of the telegram.
7. Persons traveling to education by invitation or direction of higher education.
8. Persons, who participated at liquidation of the Chernobyl accident.
