Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – As of 1 July 2022, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 35.6 million people, having increased by 332,100 people, or 2.1%, since the beginning of this year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In particular, the urban population reached 18.12 million people (50.9% of the total population), the rural population – 17.48 million people (49.1%).
As of 1July 2022, in terms of the permanent population of the republic, children under working age accounted for 31.6%, persons of working age - 57.2% and older than working age - 11.2%.
In the Republic of Uzbekistan, as of 1 January 2022, when analyzing the composition of the resident population by sex and age groups (up to 65 years old in a five-year age interval, and at the age of 65 years and older - in the aggregate), among men, children under four years of age accounted for the largest indicator – 2 043.6 thousand people. Among men, the share of 60-64-year-olds was the smallest – 615.1 thousand people. Among women, the highest figure was girls under the age of four years – 1 888.7 thousand people, the smallest number of women was included in the age group of 60-64 years old – 682.9 thousand people.
As of 1 January 2022, the average life expectancy of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was 73.8 years. It is equal to 71.7 for men and 75.8 for women. The average life expectancy for urban and rural areas is the same and is 73.8 years.
As of 1 July 2022, the population density in the country was 79.3 people per square kilometer. This is 1.7 people more when compared with the same period in 2021 (77.6 people per 1 sq. km at the beginning of 2021).
In terms of regions, the highest population density is 6 494.3 people in the city of Tashkent, 763.7 - in Andijan region, 581.5 - in Ferghana region, 397.8 - in Namangan region, 242.7 - in Samarkand region, the lowest rates recorded in Navoi region - 9.4, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 11.8, Bukhara region - 49.5, Jizzakh region - 68.7 and Kashkadarya region - 120.4 people.
In January-June 2022, 413.6 thousand children were born, respectively, the birth rate per 1 000 population was 23.5 ppm and, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 0.8 ppm (in 2021 - 22.7 ppm).
If we consider the age of fathers of babies born in January-June 2022, then 10.4% of persons were under the age of 25, 83.6% were aged 25-39 years and 6.0% were aged 40 years and older. In addition, 37.9% of newborns had mothers under 25 years of age, 61.1% were 25-39 years old, and 1.0% of infants had mothers 40 years of age or older.
In January-June 2022, 80.9 thousand deaths were registered, the mortality rate per 1 000 population was 4.6 ppm and, compared to 2021, it has not changed (in January-June 2021, this figure was 4.6 ppm).
Of the total number of registered deaths in January-June 2022, 56.2% were diseases of the circulatory system, 8.0% - neoplasms, 9.4% - respiratory diseases, 4.9% - accidents, poisoning and injuries, 3.8% - digestive diseases, 1.4% - infectious and parasitic diseases and 16.3% - other diseases.
By age groups for January-June 2022, 17.7% of the dead were young people under 20 years old, 20-59 years old - 24.8%, and people aged 60 years and older - 57.5%.
In January-June 2022, 108.9 thousand marriages were registered, the marriage rate per 1 000 population was 6.2 ppm and, compared to 2021 (in January-June 2021, it was 6.9 ppm), it decreased by 0.7 ppm.
In January-June 2022, 24.6 thousand divorces were registered, the divorce rate per 1 000 population was 1.4 ppm, which is 0.3 ppm more if compared with 2021 (in January-June 2021, this indicator was 1.1 ppm).
In January-June 2022, 23.8% of all divorced people in the republic were childless, 52.8% were divorced with one child, and 23.4% with two or more children.
In January-June 2022, the average age of divorced men was 39.8 years and 33.5 years for women. The largest proportion of divorces falls on the age of up to 35 years, which is 50.5% of all divorces.
In January-June 2022, the total number of arrivals amounted to 111 337 people, including 110 473 of them from other regions of the republic, and 864 people from abroad. The total number of those who left reached 111 877 people, including 110 473 of them left for other regions, 1 404 people left for foreign countries, the migration balance was minus 540 people.
In January - June 2022, 111.3 thousand arrivals were registered, the migration rate per 1 000 inhabitants was 6.3 ppm and, if compared with 2021, it decreased by 2.2 ppm (in January - June 2021, this indicator was 8.5 ppm)
In January-June 2022, 111.9 thousand departures were registered, the migration rate per 1 000 people of the population was 6.4 ppm and, compared to 2021, it decreased by 2.7 ppm (in January-June 2021 - 9.1 ppm).
The largest share of those who arrived for permanent residence from abroad in the Republic of Uzbekistan (in% of their total number) falls on those who arrived from Kazakhstan (34.8%), the Russian Federation (29.9%) and Tajikistan (8.2%). Kyrgyzstan accounts for 6.0% of arrivals, Turkmenistan - 1.6%, other countries - 19.5%.
The largest share of those who left for permanent residence from the Republic of Uzbekistan (in % of their total number) falls on Kazakhstan (64.2%) and the Russian Federation (30.0%). 1.6% of people left for Tajikistan, 1.0% for Kyrgyzstan, 1.0% for Turkmenistan, and 2.2% for other countries.
