Requirements to highly skilled cadres improves

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on science, education, culture and sport held a roundtable “Actual issues of re-training and improving skills of officials and pedagogic cadres of higher education institutions” on 24 June.

At the event, MPs of the Legislative Chamber, ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, experts and specialists participated in the roundtable, which was held at the Legislative Chamber.

The roundtable considered implementation of the presidential decree “On measures on further improving system of re-training and improving skills of officials and teachers of higher educational institutions” from 12 June 2015 and establishment of cooperation among ministries, departments, higher educational institutions and public organizations, the press service of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.

It was underlined that wide-scale reforms in higher education sphere of Uzbekistan helps to ensure training of highly skilled pedagogic cadres, equip institutions with modern curriculum, material-technical and educational-methodical labs.

Abdugappor Kirgizboev, MP of the Legislative Chamber, said that the presidential decree is actual as it is directed at improving training of teachers for universities and introducing system of their regular re-training based on modern requirements.

He said that the document should improve quality of training of specialists. He added that the roundtable participants discussed issues of improving training heads and teachers of the higher educational institutions.

The decree said that 15 leading universities of Uzbekistan determined as basic higher educational institutions on organization of training and re-training pedagogic cadres of the universities, which will allow to organize training of pedagogic cadres at institutions with modern material-technical base.

At the event, it was underlined that officials and teachers of the universities should undergo retraining once in three years and participate in courses of Basic higher educational institutions.

One of main aspects of the decree is creation of Inter-departmental commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, which will help to coordinate work on organization of retraining and certification of pedagogic cadres.

The presidential decree also set new qualification requirements, curriculum, programmes and methods of re-training and improving skills of pedagogic cadres. At the same time, the universities should adopt modern teaching methods using ICT and internet, multimedia and distance education systems.

The roundtable participants adopted corresponding proposals and recommendations.
