Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new seven-story complex of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics, built to modern standards and equipped with the latest medical technologies, was commissioned in Tashkent.

At this time, the center has an advisory polyclinic and an emergency department for 240 patients, 8 inpatient and 6 paraclinical departments. And also in the clinic center annually will provide highly qualified medical advisory care for more than 85 thousand patients per year, more than 6 thousand unique operations are performed.

The commissioning of all the necessary conditions for a new complex becomes the ground for increasing the level of medical care provided in the field of traumatology and orthopedics. In particular, new diagnostic methods such as telemedicine, electronic documentation, gait laboratory (GateLab), magnetic resonance imaging, intraoperative microscopy, and intraoperative neuromonitoring will be introduced here.

At the same time, it will be possible to use modern medical technologies such as shoulder and small joints, closed hernia of the intervertebral discs, laser-burning intervertebral discs, endoscopic spinal surgery, shoulder arthroscopic surgery, and surgical treatment of congenital scoliosis. Over the past year, 30 center specialists have upgraded their skills in leading foreign clinics.

An emergency trauma unit is located on the first floor, an advisory clinic is on the second floor, diagnostic laboratories are on the third, and a trauma unit and complications department are on the fourth and fifth floors, an intensive care unit is on the sixth floor and operating unit. Here, medical equipment has been installed, which is available in modern clinics of foreign countries with developed medicine and a computerized service system has been created.

With the launch of the new complex, it is planned to increase the number of operations in the center to 8,000, of which up to 6,400 (80 percent) are high-tech operations. Thanks to the conditions that are being created, it will be possible to develop medical tourism and assist more than 1,500 patients. Based on the latest medical advances, the operating unit and technologies will ensure communication with leading medical centers and clinics in the USA, Germany, Great Britain and Russia.
