Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 November, an official meeting was held at the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan between the leadership of the Ministry of Preschool Education (MPE) and representatives of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen.
At the meeting, the issues of organizing the activities of the branch of the Russian university in Tashkent were discussed. The discussion was held with the participation of the Minister of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Agrippina Shin, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Uzokboy Begimkulov, Advisor to the Rector of the Russian State Pedagogical University Arseniy Parfenov and the newly appointed director of the branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University in Tashkent Vasily Popov. Representatives of MDO departments also took part in the event.
During the conversation, the results of the ongoing large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, the current state and prospects of further strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations were discussed.
Advisor to the rector of the Russian State Pedagogical University Herzen A. Parfenov emphasized that the university administration, represented by the rector S. Bogdanov, expresses special gratitude to the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan in promoting the idea of opening a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after Herzen in Tashkent. This branch will be the first full-fledged branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University abroad.
During the meeting, the organizational issues of opening a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after Herzen in Tashkent were discussed, including: a) development of a roadmap for the opening and start of the branch; b) registration of a branch; c) the procedure for appointing the management of the branch; d) determination of the structure and status of the branch; e) accreditation of curricula and programs; f) design and construction of the branch building.
The branch in Tashkent will train specialists in preschool education, correctional pedagogy, psychology and other areas.
