Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Renovated office of the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan was opened in Tashkent on 28 October.

The opening ceremony was held as part of the visit of President of the European Council Charles Michel to Uzbekistan. The office is located in International Business Center.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, as well as heads of embassies and representative offices accredited in Uzbekistan, media journalists.

Charles Michel in his speech noted the growing attention of the leadership of Uzbekistan to the issues of ensuring gender equality, supporting the rights and interests of women, youth and children, and also assured of the EU’s readiness to continue comprehensive assistance in the implementation of projects and programs in these areas. The European Union noted the importance of full respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
