Renewable Energy Accounts for 23% of Power Generation in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Since the beginning of 2025, Uzbekistan’s solar and wind power plants have generated 9 billion kWh of electricity. Including hydropower generation, the total volume of renewable electricity reached 14.5 billion kWh, meaning that almost one quarter of the country’s total power output — 23% — now comes from renewable sources.
According to the Ministry of Energy, as of 19:00 on 22 October, the combined output of solar and wind power plants since the start of the year had reached 9 billion kWh.
Currently, Uzbekistan operates 12 solar photovoltaic and 5 wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 4,682 megawatts.
