Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Organic Products" was discussed at the plenary session.

It was noted that the document is aimed at regulating relations in the field of organic products (production, processing, storage, transportation, labeling and sale of organic products, as well as assessment and authorization of conformity).

This Law establishes the rights and obligations of producers of organic products, according to which they have the right to use their trade name, trademark and service mark in the production, processing, storage, transportation and sale of organic products, independently choose the type of services (works) necessary for the production of processing , storage, transportation and sale of organic products, including conformity assessment bodies and organizations providing consulting services.

In addition, the Law establishes compliance by producers of organic products with the requirements of the legislation on organic products and regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation in the framework of their activities.

This Law establishes the conditions and requirements for the production of organic products, the procedure for their import into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and export from the territory of our state.

In addition, the mechanisms of authorization of the conformity assessment body, equivalence assessment in the field of organic products, and labeling of organic products are disclosed.

The adoption of the Law will contribute to the creation of a legal basis for the formation of relations in the system of production of organic agricultural products and raw materials, the development of activities for the production of organic agricultural products and raw materials, as well as the legal regulation of relations between economic entities.

The law was approved by the senators.
