Qoqand hosts seminar for people with hearing and speech disabilities

The aim of the project was to inform citizens about their legal rights and obligations, as well existing legal instruments for the protection and social support, what preferences they have to run their own businesses, and etc. A similar workshop was held in the city of Qoqand in the summer.

The main topics in the training were: Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on education; The Law on health care of people with disabilities; The laws on the treatment of citizens in the various bodies; Disability pension rights; The right to a job and benefits, what are the benefits of persons with disabilities; Obtaining housing to families with children with disabilities and others.

The training participants were given collections of legal acts relating to their life and activity, as well as highly qualified lawyers answered all their questions.

All the collected materials will be transferred to the regional offices to support people with disabilities of hearing and speech. It is also planned to create an Internet portal for easy access to resources and the ability to interactively communicate with specialists.

The project organizers are planning to hold similar workshops in other regions of Uzbekistan.
