Qazaq Air to Launch Direct Astana–Samarkand Flights from 7 November

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Vietjet Qazaqstan, operating under the brand Qazaq Air, will launch direct flights between Astana and Samarkand starting from 7 November, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan said.

Flights will operate twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays. Departure from Astana is scheduled for 10:30, arriving in Samarkand at 13:30, with the return flight leaving Samarkand at 14:20 and arriving in Astana at 17:25.

From 10 November, Qazaq Air will also begin operating flights on the Astana–Bishkek–Astana route twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.

The expansion of air connections in Central Asia is part of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s initiative to promote regional trade and tourism.

Adilbek Umraliev, Chairman of Qazaq Air, noted that direct air service between the capitals and Samarkand will provide convenience for passengers and strengthen business, tourism, and cultural ties in the region.

In spring 2024, Uzaviatsiya granted Qazaq Air permission to operate flights to Uzbekistan. Previously, the airline also ran services on the Turkestan–Samarkand–Turkestan route on Fridays and Sundays.
