Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 February, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davronbek Kurbanov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani.

Qatar's imports primarily consist of machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, automobiles, iron and steel products, as well as aerospace equipment. Additionally, the country places significant emphasis on importing military equipment, precious stones and metals, and pharmaceutical products.

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, promoting mutual investments, developing business partnerships, and organizing delegation visits.

The Uzbekistan-Qatar Business Council was established on 1 October 2023, in Doha. Its mission is to strengthen trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries, facilitate direct connections between businesses, implement joint projects, and create favorable conditions for business development.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the visit of a Qatari importers’ delegation to Uzbekistan later this year, as well as on holding a session of the Uzbekistan-Qatar Business Council.
